Virginie De Valandraud Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Micro-cuvee established in 1992 as a second wine, grown and vinified with the same care, Virginie de Valandraud has since conquered his pedigree to become in 1997 a full wine resulting from vineyards going beyond those of Valandraud.
The vintage 2018 opens a little broody with notes of truffles and chargrill, opening up to display stewed plums blackberry tart plus nuances of espresso. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness lifting the rich, decadent fruit to a long finish.
